The Little Drift tiny homes are like luxury off-grid, singular hotel rooms immersed in nature. They're tucked between the beach, a brewery and rolling plains.
We designed the homes ourselves and built them using local trades; by doing so, The Little Drift offers a quiet, refined stay that connects guests with the unique stories and landscapes of East Gippsland. We share a premises with artisan beer makers, Sailors Grave Brewing. We have big beds, big windows, birds, bush, privacy and neon sunsets.
We are completely off-grid which means rainwater tanks, solar power and minimal environmental impact. Equipped with private bathrooms, kitchens, outdoor living, fire pots and details that celebrate the region, we provide guests with locally roasted coffee, a curated playlist and careful selection of reading - we appreciate guests that appreciate the detail.
We opened in December 2025 and although we are proud of our creation, we continue to make improvements after every stay. The Little Drift exists to enhance the lives of those that live locally, those that are returning and those that are experiencing East Gippsland for the very first time.

meet our creator
This is Hannah and The Little Drift is her coming home story.
Growing up in Marlo and Cape Conran in the 1990's, Hannah had a rich life in nature and family all around. She loved Marlo, she still loves Marlo, but she couldn't wait to leave. Moving to Melbourne to gain an education and career in Interior Design and Business Public Relations, Hannah thought her future resided in the city with a fancy job title, but after 15 years in 'the big smoke', it was time to come home.
Returning to Marlo in 2024 in the midst of the timber transition and a focus on developing new industries for the town, Hannah decided to take a punt and start her own business. She wanted to create something that allowed her to connect with nature, push boundaries of design and share the beauty of her home, all of which led her to approach Chris and Gab of Sailors Grave Brewing with the offer to set up accommodation at Dunetown.
Using skills acquired through her career in Melbourne, Hannah manages all aspects of The Little Drift and ironically, the future of business and design she thought to have in the city, she found it in Marlo.
